It’s time to learn about the new federal and local bankruptcy rules and forms that will be effective for cases filed on or after December 1, 2017. One of the new forms is a revised chapter 13 plan. The amended federal rules set forth new bar dates for claims; a requirement that secured claims be filed by the bar date; specific service requirements for the plan, certain motions, and objections; and other changes affecting procedure, service, and notice. The amended local rules and forms affect the procedure for adequate protection; avoidance of judicial liens; applications to incur debt; and of course the revised chapter 13 plan.
With the assistance of the Bankruptcy Court and U.S. Trustee’s office, I have scheduled time for onsite training in each division (except Frankfort – sorry; you’ll have to come to Lexington) to discuss these major changes in the rules and forms. Debtors’ attorneys and creditors’ attorneys are invited to attend, along with 1 or 2 support staff each.
There is no cost to attend, but you need to pre-register because of potential space limitations. Handouts will be available to download, whether or not you attend.
Here is the schedule, along with links to the registration site for each session.
